Battle of 300 was a virtual representation of one of Leonidas I of Sparta's genetic memories, relived by Layla Hassan through the Portable Animus HR-8.5.
Description
Leonidas and his army prepared for the battle against the Persians.
Dialogue
Leonidas stood on the top of a cliff, when Dienekes approached him.
- Dienekes: We are ready, my king.
- Leonidas: Tell me, Dienekes, have you ever gone fishing with your son?
- Dienekes: No, never. A soldier's life is all I've had the honor to know.
- Leonidas: I would have liked to have gone fishing with my son. But now...
Leonidas put his helm on.
- Leonidas: Let's meet our fate, shall we?
Leonidas and Dienekes went to the rest of their army, after witnessing dozens of Persians ships at the coast. Leonidas walked among his men.
- Leonidas: Spartans! Every breath that you have taken, has led you to this moment. Every drop of blood, sweat and tear, all of it, has led to where you stand right now. The Persians come to make slaves of us all. I have a better idea. I say we drench the gods with their blood. What say you Spartans?
The Spartans roared.
- Leonidas: For our sons!
The Spartans roared again.
- Leonidas: For our daughters!
The Spartans roared again.
- Leonidas: For Sparta!
The Spartans roared three times, then mounted guard for the incoming Persian attack. Amid the battle, Leonidas fought and killed a few Persians with his spear. He then killed three captains before making his way to the polemarch, Kurush. The two men threw themselves off a cliff, and stood up.
- Kurush: Puny Spartan! I'll bring Xerxes your head.
- Leonidas: Xerxes send his sheep to slaughter. Come, Persian!
- Kurush: I will bring Xerxes your head, you insolent Spartan fool!
- Leonidas: Come and get it!
- Leonidas: My son is more of a warrior than you.
- Kurush: Once I'm done with you, king, all of Sparta's sons will be slaves for Xerxes!
- Leonidas: Sparta's sons would rather die!
- Kurush: That can be arranged.
Leonidas killed Kurush.
- Leonidas: No match for a Spartan!
At the end of the battle, the Spartan were piling up the bodies of the Persians. A Spartan soldier brought a Persian soldier tied to Leonidas.
- Spartan Light Soldier: We are betrayed, my king. Xerxes knows of the path behind the mountain. They are coming.
- Persian Soldier: By dawn, you'll be completely surrounded!
- Leonidas: We are Spartans, when we are not.
- Persian Soldier: Spartans!
The Persian spat on Leonidas.
- Persian Soldier: That word will mean nothing when Xerxes wipes your bloodline from the face of th--
Leonidas stabbed the Persian on the mouth, killing him. He then adressed his men.
- Leonidas: Today was a day the Persians will never forget. Tomorrow is a day the world will remember.
Outcome
The Spartans won the battle against the Persians, but were alerted of a new attack.
