Finding Theras was a virtual representation of one of Kassandra's genetic memories, relived by Layla Hassan through the Portable Animus HR-8.5.
Description
On Aletheia's suggestion, Kassandra travelled to Seriphos to look for Theras.
Dialogue
Kassandra found Theras north of the Temple of Athena, surrounded by guards of the Cult of Kosmos.
- Theras: I beg you. Have pity.
- Cult Guardian: Gladly. Once you tell me what I want to know.
Kassandra crept into the bushes nearby and listened in.
- Theras: I don't know any more than Phidias did. Please. Stop.
- Cult Guardian: I want to stop. But I can't. Not until you tell us where you found the symbols in Phidias' workshop.
Kassandra had to make a decision quickly.
Kassandra threw a rock far past the Cultists, making a distinct sound far down the opposite side of the hill.
- Cult Guardian: Go check it out.
Two of the guards went to investigate.
- Theras: I beg you.
- Cult Guardian: Gladly. Once you tell me what I want to know.
With the Cult Guardian alone, Kassandra sneaked up on him and eliminated him, saving Theras.
Kassandra shouted to the Cultists.
Kassandra attacked and eliminated the guards, saving Theras.
Kassandra held back, allowing the Cult Guardian to interrogate Theras further. He punched Theras in the face, and he fell onto the planks over the mineshaft behind him. He rose, clutching his abdomen.
(see first "Distract." choice)
(see first "Attack." choice)
Once more, Kassandra did not intervene.
- Theras: Please. I have children.
The Cult Guardian grabbed Theras by the neck.
- Cult Guardian: The third!
(see first "Attack." choice)
For a third time, Kassandra refused to help Theras.
The Cult Guardian did not keep his word. He threw Theras down the mineshaft once he had outlived his usefulness. Theras' scream faded into the depths of the mineshaft until it fell silent upon his death. Kassandra took the information gleaned from her eavesdropping and left.
(If Kassandra intervened to save Theras)
Kassandra addressed Theras, who shook hands with her.
- Theras: Eagle Bearer! I can't tell you how relieved I am to see you.
- Kassandra: Are you all right?
- Theras: It's nothing compared to what they did to poor Phidias. Did you hear?
- Kassandra: What do you know about Phidias?
- Theras: Only rumours now. A man in gold came into his workshop. Tortured him. Broke his hands. His body... was too destroyed for a proper burial. All because of these symbols.
- Kassandra: Symbols?
- Kassandra: Theras, I need you to think. I'm looking for the location of some symbols. I can't explain why, but you have to help me.
- Theras: I was exploring the tombs of Agamemnon, Eteokles, and Orion. I'm a traveler like you. I found the symbols and etched them onto parchment to give to Phidias as a gift.
(If players asked "Where did you find the symbols?")
- Kassandra: Where were the symbols?
- Theras: In Argolis you'll find one in Agamemnon's Tomb. Eteokles' Tomb in Attika is where I found another. The final one, I found in Boeotia, deep in Orion's Tomb.
(If players asked "What happened to Phidias?" - Only available if earlier players did not ask about Phidias)
- Kassandra: What did you hear about Phidias?
- Theras: Rumours now. A man in gold came into his workshop. Tortured him. Broke his hands. His body... was too destroyed for a proper burial. All because of these symbols.
- Kassandra: You need to find somewhere safe, Theras. You can sail with us on the Adrestia.
- Theras: I would be forever in your debt.
- Kassandra: You need to to find somewhere safe to hide, Theras.
- Theras: I will.
- Theras: Take this map. It's rough, but it's the best I could do.
Theras handed Kassandra a map.
- Theras: Chaire, Eagle Bearer, and thank you.
Outcome
Kassandra met with and rescued Theras, who gave her the locations of three symbols he found.
