Kaminogō Castle was a castle and outpost of the Imagawa clan that was located in Mikawa Province, Japan.
History
In 1562, Igan shinobi Hattori Hanzō followed Imagawa retainer Udono Nagateru alone as he rode with his hostage, Sena, Matsudaira Takechiyo's wife, to the castle.[1] Within the tenshu, Sena and her children Nobuyasu and Kamehime were held under the watch of Nagateru, who began to threaten Sena. In a split moment, Hanzō arrived and threw his shuriken. However, it was stopped by an instant knife coming from a doorway.[2]
Introducing himself, Jesuit priest and Templar Paulino Massa saved Nagateru, who was angered by his presence at the castle. Quickly, Massa stated Nagateru's dismissal aloud before shooting him point-blank and killing him instantly. Turning his pistol on Sena and her kids, he offered a choice to Hanzō: their lives for the location of the Imperial Regalia. Shocked, Hanzō then realized the castle was under siege and burning down. Nevertheless, Massa asked the choice again, leaving Hanzō confounded.[2]
