Bear for the Bare was a virtual representation of one of Kassandra's genetic memories, relived by Layla Hassan in 2018 through the Portable Animus HR-8.5.

Description

Kassandra met a herbalist who had a thing against people with baldness.

Dialogue

Kassandra spoke to a woman at a campsite.

• Kassandra: Anything a mercenary can do for you today, healer?
• Woman: I heard you hate bald people.
• Kassandra: What?
• Woman: It's OK. I hate bald people too. It's OK. I hate bald people too. That Hippokrates is one ugly malakas.

• Kassandra: Bald or not, Hippokrates is a nice man. I don't think he should be judged on his hair loss.
• Woman: It doesn't matter if he's nice, he just shouldn't be bald. I have a cure, though, and it isn't herbs.

• Kassandra: And what is that?
• Woman: Hippokrates' ugly bald pate has given me inspiration. Do you know what makes a good substitute for hair? Bear hair! If all the bears around here were to drop dead, I may cure this world of baldness.
• Kassandra: You want me to find and slay all the bears?
• Woman: Yes, all of them must be gutted. Do you accept?

("I'll kill the beasts.")

• Kassandra: I'll take care of it.
• Woman: Thank you, misthios.
• Kassandra: I'll come back when I'm done.

Kassandra left to track down bears to hunt. After hunting two bears, she returned to the herbalist.

• Woman: You're back. Have you killed them?
• Kassandra: I took care of them. Every last one.
• Woman: The gods thank you, and so do I. Take this.
• Kassandra: Thank you.

Outcome

Kassandra helped the herbalist to eliminate the bears for their hair, allegedly a "good cure" replacement for baldness.

Trivia

• This quest is available after Kassandra has met Hippokrates in Argolis.
