Rodrigo Borgia and his men were leaving Florence on foot, under the night sky.[1] As they move, so did the assassin, Giovanni, who was quietly following them at the rooftops. Giovanni began his ambush by landing directly in front of them. This caused Rodrigo to retreat and leave his men behind to deal with him.[1] Rodrigo's allies were easily dispatched by Giovanni, and one of them was taken away by the assassin to the home of his employer, Lorenzo de Medici for questioning.[1]
