The Sting of Mania was a virtual representation of one of Kassandra's genetic memories, relived by Layla Hassan in 2018 through the Portable Animus HR-8.5.
Description
Kassandra met a politician whose friend got in trouble during a festival.
Dialogue
Kassandra spoke to the politician.
- Kassandra: Chaire, statesman. I don't suppose you could use a mercenary's help today?
- Man: My friend, a commander... They say he went mad at the festival and attacked another officer.
- Man: He saved my life. He must be freed. I'll bribe the other officer. Or kill him. I won't see one moment of madness ruin a good man.
- Kassandra: And you want me to send him to the Ferryman.
- Man: It's not an easy task, but yes, the Spartan must be killed.
("The commander's head is mine.")
- Kassandra: You can count on me.
- Man: You're doing me a service, mercenary.
- Kassandra: I'll come back when I'm done.
Kassandra left to locate the commander. After killing him, Kassandra returned to the politician.
- Man: You again. Have you killed him?
- Kassandra: Your man is dead.
- Man: You kept up your end of the deal. Now it's time I hold up mine. Take this.
- Kassandra: Thank you.
Outcome
Kassandra helped the politician to eliminate the commander.
