Phidias' Murder was a visual representation of one of Deimos's genetic memories, relived by Layla Hassan in 2018 through the Portable Animus HR-8.5.
Description
Deimos approaches Phidias with the objective of extracting information regarding some ancient symbols on behalf of the Cult of Kosmos.
Dialogue
Phidias examined the contents of several scrolls over a marble block in his workshop at Olympia, expressing discontentment while reading them. Suddenly, Deimos arrived and punched the back of Phidias' head, which bounced off in the block and began to bleed. The sculptor fell to the ground, crawling away for his life as Deimos grabbed a chisel from his toolset on top of the marble. Phidias stood up as Deimos approached.
- Phidias: Are you... Brison?
- Deimos: No talking until after we dance.
- Deimos: The symbols. Talk.
- Brison: Itira, Korgath, Metin.
- Deimos: What does that mean?
- Brison: Itira, Korgath, Metin.
- Deimos: All right. Let's do this the hard way.
The memory collapsed and rewinded to the moment when Deimos punched Phidias' head due to de-synchronization of the subject with the events.
Deimos punched Phidias again, throwing him onto another slab of marble. He then stabbed Phidias' left hand with the tool, causing the artist to scream in pain.
- Phidias: Itira! Korgath! Metin! That's all I know. You have to believe me.
Deimos held his hand to his forehead in frustration, turning to Phidias.
- Deimos: Maybe you'll talk if I break your other hand?
- Deimos: I'm not here to hurt you, Phidias. We're friends. I just want to know where these symbols come from. You would tell your friend, wouldn't you?
- Phidias: It... Itira. Ko...
- Deimos: Korgath! Metin! Are you trying to anger your friend?
The memory collapsed and rewinded to the moment Deimos stabbed Phidias' hand due to de-synchronization of th subject with the events.
Deimos continued to repeatedly and violently punch Phidias until the latter's blood started to run down the piece of marble, stopping after a while. The refusal of the subject to being ejected from the memory caused Deimos himself to protest.
- Deimos: NO!
A bloody Deimos climbed the slab and stood over Phidias.
- Deimos: Don't be afraid. We all die. But first, tell me what I want to know.
Deimos picked up Phidias and threw him across the room. The helpless artist continued to utter the words as an angry Deimos stepped down from the piece of marble and approached him.
- Phidias: Ithira! Korgath! Metin! Ithira! Korgath! Metin! Ithira! Korgath! Metin!
The scene cut to outside of the workshop, from which screams continued to be heard.
Outcome
Deimos kills Phidias after the latter fails to provide him with the information he needed.
