These flails were used by Lucius Septimius during his time as Julius Caesar's right-hand man. He acquired them at some point between 48 and 44 BCE. When Aya infiltrated the Theatre of Pompey to assassinate Caesar on 15 March 44 BCE, Septimius stopped and fought her using the artifacts.
