Birds of a Feather was a virtual representation of one of Kassandra's genetic memories, relived by Layla Hassan through the Portable Animus HR-8.5.
Description
The Keos pirate Xenia tasked Kassandra with finding the lost Golden Feather of Ajax.
Dialogue
Kassandra returned to Xenia at the Temple of Athena Nedousia in Keos.
- Xenia: Ah, the mighty misthios. You proved yourself capable before... I could use your talents. One like you is always interested in more drachmae, yes?
- Xenia: I have an appetite for rare treasures. I've heard many veiled rumors and provocative stories, and I want you to recover some of these lost wonders for me.
- Kassandra: Tell me where to look, and I'll bring you these treasures.
- Kassandra: I don't have the patience to go chasing after children's stories.
- Xenia What tide sweeps you back to me, Kassandra? Are you up for finding my treasures now?
- Xenia: Have you heard of the mighty Ajax?
- Kassandra: One of Homer's heroes.
- Xenia: Yes! He had a golden eagle feather, a gift from Zeus.
- Kassandra: And why do you care about it?
- Xenia: It is a rare reminder of a glorious age. And so deserves to be in my grasp. Take these maps and see if you can find it.
(If players choose "Where is the feather?")
- Kassandra: Where will I find this golden eagle feather?
- Xenia: Different tales place it at different locations. I have maps showing where you might find it.
(If players choose "What is the story of the feather?")
- Kassandra: What can you tell me about Ajax's feather?
- Xenia: The son of Telamon was said to be a fearless giant. Some say the golden feather that gave him courage was woven into a shield crafted of seven ox hides. The shield is long destroyed, but Zeus's feather remains.
(If players choose "Leave – I'll start my search.")
- Kassandra: I'll find this feather for you, if it's there to be found.
Kassandra, having acquired the feather, returns to an eager Xenia.
- Xenia: You return on the wind. Do you have Ajax's golden feather for me?
- Kassandra: Here. One golden eagle feather, per request.
- Xenia What a pretty, pretty thing.
- Kassandra: Glad you're happy. Now, my pay?
- Xenia Calm yourself. Here, for your trouble.
- Kassandra: Thanks.
- Kassandra: Here, have it. It's lovely, no?
- Xenia Yes, it will fit nicely in my collection.
Outcome
Kassandra was given three maps for each of the rumored locations and prepared to set sail.
