"As discussed, W. will provide the perfect distraction. I have no doubts he will restart animosities with Iraq. Let him, it will give C.'s contractors more work."
Antonin Scalia in a letter to an associate, 2000.[src]

The Iraq War was a protracted armed conflict that began with the 2003 invasion of Iraq led by the United States. The invasion toppled the government of Saddam Hussein.

Background[edit | edit source]

The primary justification for the war was the belief that Iraq, under then-President Saddam Hussein, possessed weapons of mass destruction (WMDs) and posed a threat to international security. The US government, led by President George W. Bush, argued for pre-emptive action, citing the need to eliminate this perceived threat.[1]

Course of the war[edit | edit source]

The conflict, initiated in March 2003, culminated in a military campaign which led to the fall of Baghdad in April, symbolizing the end of Saddam Hussein's rule.[1]

On 4 December 2004, a suicide bomber struck a police station near the main entrance to the Green Zone in Baghdad, resulting in seven fatalities and 50 injuries.[2] Following the attack, a private military contracted Blackwater MD-530F helicopter assisted in securing the site.[3]

On 21 November 2005, US Congressmen and Representatives met with US Marine Chief Warrant Officer Timothy Callahan in Fallujah to discuss improvised explosive devices. The abilities of a bomb disposal robot were demonstrated, providing troops with a safer ability to discharge improvised explosive devices.[4]

In 2011, the Iraq War witnessed a significant turning point with the withdrawal of US troops, formally ending the nearly nine-year-long conflict. The withdrawal was part of a broader effort to transition Iraq to full sovereignty and self-governance.[1]

Templar involvement[edit | edit source]

The Templar Order had planned for their puppet, George W. Bush, to restart U.S-Iraq animosities and the ensuing war as early as 2000, in hopes of providing work for Dick Cheney's military contractors.[4]
