Assassin's Creed: The Engine of History – The Resurrection Plot is a novel by Kate Heartfield. It is the second entry in The Engine of History trilogy and will be published by Aconyte Books.

Development

News of the sequel to the series' first book The Magus Conspiracy came in an interview Kate had with Ubisoft on 16 August, 2022 in celebration of The Magus Conspiracy's release. At the end of discussions on the book's characters and their motives, Kate revealed that she had officially been signed on for a sequel and mentioned how she and her editors had talked about what the series' whole story arc would look like to have an idea of what could happen going forward. An outline had already been created by press time, and she hinted that some characters in the first book would reappear in the then-ununnamed novel.[1] Three days later, Kate officially announced the title of The Resurrection Plot on her Twitter.[2]
