The 2013 Egyptian coup d'état was a coup took place in July 2013 and installed Abdel Fattah el-Sisi as president. Then Abstergo employee Layla Hassan, who had been in the country since the protests of 2011, decided to reluctantly return to America to work for Abstergo again.[1] By October 2017, in a personal voice memo Layla recalled her reasoning behind going to Egypt during the 2011 revolution, though realized she only found trouble in the aftermath.[2]
