"Rot in hell, Thomas."
Nikola Tesla at Tunguska.[src]

The Tunguska explosion was an enormously powerful explosion that occurred near the Podkamennaya Tunguska River in what is now Krasnoyarsk Krai, Russia, at about 7:14 a.m. on June 30th 1908. It was caused by Nikola Tesla, working with the Assassins, who tried to destroy the Staff of Eden as a strike against the Templars.

Prelude

In 1905, the Templar Grigori Rasputin came into possession of the Staff of Tsar Nicholas II, a Piece of Eden. It was taken to a secret facility in central Russia, near the Tunguska river.[1] The Staff was used as part of research into wave-generation technology.[2]

Several years prior, the inventor Nikola Tesla had been discredited and nearly ruined by the Templars, namely J. P. Morgan and Thomas Edison.[3]

The explosion

In the summer of 1908, members of the Assassin Order contacted Tesla, offering a chance to get back at the Templars.[4] Using his mastery of electricity and the Wardenclyffe Tower, Tesla broadcast destruction into the facility, creating one of the largest explosions in history (more than 2,000 kilometers of forest were flattened and it is estimated that the explosion had a force of more than 30 megatons of TNT [citation needed] ). This explosion obliterated the research facility and the Staff within.[5]

Aftermath

Orelov, after the explosion at Tunguska.

The explosion was a complete Assassin victory. The explosion destroyed the Staff and injured only one Assassin, Nikolai Orelov. Orelov later returned to Anna, barely alive, muttering that the Staff was destroyed.[5] The Templars, however, would not discover the truth behind the explosion until 2012.[2]
