The Vietnam War (Vietnamese: Chiến tranh Việt Nam), also known as the Second Indochina War, and in Vietnam as the Resistance War Against America (Vietnamese: Kháng chiến chống Mỹ) or simply the American War, was an undeclared war in Vietnam, Laos, and Cambodia from 1 November 1955 to the fall of Saigon on 30 April 1975. It was the second of the Indochina Wars and was officially fought between North Vietnam and South Vietnam. North Vietnam was supported by the Soviet Union , China , and other communist allies; South Vietnam was supported by the United States , South Korea, the Philippines, Australia, Thailand and other anti-communist allies.
South Vietnamese President and capitalist Ngô Đình Diệm was a puppet of the Templar Order who supported him and his nation in the war against their northern adversaries. CIA and Templar agent Cooper was captured by William Greer and the Bloodstone Unit , a cell of Assassin extremists, while in the country on business for the Order. Cooper's capture and interrogation greatly helped the Bloodstone Unit in inflitrating the Templar plot to assassinate President John F. Kennedy. Following Kennedy's death at the hands of the Bloodstone Unit, successor and Templar Lyndon B. Johnson gregoriously escalated U.S involvement and support for South Vietnam.
In 1975, Templar puppet Richard Nixon withdrew all U.S troops from the country, allowing North Vietnam to annex the entire country.
Trivia
- Later Templar ally André Bolden was a veteran of the Vietnam War, receiving a Purple Heart. Bolden suffered for the rest of his life from PTSD due to some actions he committed during the war.
