The 1402 Chinese Assassin purge was a full-scale assault on the Chinese Brotherhood of Assassins in eastern China by the Yongle Emperor, under the influence of the Templar Order.
Thousands of suspected Assassins were captured and executed, including the Assassin leader Fang Xiaoru, a Confucian scholar. Li Tong was able to escape the purge in Beijing alongside an apprentice, taking an Apple of Eden with them.
