For the next three years, Simeon and Konstanze lived together while she trained to become an Assassin. He received Henri, who offered that Konstanze succeeded but gave an audience with King [[Leopold II of Belgium]]. Set to talk with Konstanze, Simeon received her and her surprise guest [[Henry Morton Stanley]] at their house. Mad, Simeon privately asked her about her choices in Brussels but she played it off. Nathalie Chapman's helicopter flying over the Swiss Alps

The Alps is the most extensive and highest mountain range that lie within Europe.

History

19th century

In 1873, the British Assassin Simeon Price and the former Austrian Templar Countess Konstanze von Visler ran away to a secluded cabin in the Alps after faking their deaths to hide from the Templars. There, the couple trained and lived together in seclusion, and at one point adopted a St. Bernard dog that they named Javert. For a month, Simeon readied Konstanze to meet with the Swiss Assassin leader Henri Escoffier as a possible initiate.[1]

For the next three years, Simeon and Konstanze continued to live in the cabin while she trained to become an Assassin. In September 1876, Simeon waited at home for two months while Konstanze was off to Brussels on her first mission to assassinate the Templar cartographer Maynard Poole. He received Henri, who revealed that Konstanze had succeeded in her mission but had privately met with King Leopold II of Belgium. Deciding to discuss the matter with Konstanze, Simeon waited for her to return home, although when she did, she was accompanied by a surprise guest: Henry Morton Stanley. Mad, Simeon privately asked Konstanze about her actions in Brussels but she played them off.[2]

Catching Stanley analyzing Konstanze's work, Simeon confronted him and noticed Stanley preparing his gun. Acting swiftly, he incapacitated the man, but during the scuffle, Konstanze arrived and pointed her own gun at Simeon, who held Stanley between them. While choking Stanley, Simeon deduced that Konstanze had lied about her intentions to become an Assassin and pushed Stanley onto her to escape. Hurt and betrayed, Simeon later returned to the cabin to retrieve Javert before leaving to meet with Henri.[2]

Modern times

During World War II, the Assassin Brotherhood aided local Maquis cells in their resistance against the Germans from a cabin in an isolated part of the Swiss Alps.[3]

This cabin, which had been in use as a base since the 1800s, was also the destination for Desmond Miles's cell after Abstergo Industries raided their hideout in Rome in mid-September 2012,[3] though a roadblock in Grosseto[4] forced them to relocate to Monteriggioni instead.[5]

Chapman's Project BLUEBIRD base in the Swiss Alps

On 15 November 2017, a hypnotized Elisa Adler held Maxime Gorm hostage and made him drive to a helipad in the Swiss Alps. There, they were greeted by Stanislas, who took them to meet his employer, Dr. Nathalie Chapman. As they all flew together in a helicopter to Nathalie's secret base within the Alps, Chapman told Maxime about her escape from Abstergo decades prior and her plans to start her own version of Project BLUEBIRD. She then explained that she needed Maxime to relive his mother's memories to find out what happened with her father, Boris Pash. In return, Nathalie promised to help Maxime regain his memories erased by Abstergo.[6]

After finding the truth, Nathalie used the Apple of Eden she had stolen from Abstergo to activate her machine. However, the device soon started to malfunction as Nathalie detected a complex virus in her system. Realizing it was of Tomo Sakagawa's design, the Assassin himself made his presence known and confronted Nathalie after having killed both Maxime and Stanislas.[6]

Negotiating a deal, Tomo demanded both his and Elisa's freedom in exchange for the virus' decryption key. Nathalie accepted and allowed Tomo and Elisa to leave the facility in her helicopter while she inserted the key into her system. However, the "key" turned out to be another virus which affected the base's cooling systems. Within a matter of seconds, the system overheated, causing a massive explosion that killed Nathalie and destroyed the facility, as well as presumably the Apple of Eden.[6]
