The 13 Vendémiaire uprising was a French royalist rebellion in Paris on 5 October 1795.
Napoleon Bonaparte, a young artillery officer of the French Army, defeated 25,000 royalists with only 5,000 troops and 40 cannons under his command.[1] However, one of the royalists, François-Joseph Carbon, managed to survive, and attempted to assassinate Bonaparte.[2]
