The French Revolution was a period of radical social and political upheaval in France from 1789 to 1799. The revolution saw the abolishment of the Ancien Régime and the French monarchy, and established principles of inalienable rights in the Declaration of the Rights of Man and of the Citizen.

After the abolishment of the Kingdom of France, the French Republic was founded, but this gave way to many upheavals and executions. In the wake of ensuing chaos, the First French Empire was founded by Napoleon Bonaparte,[1] who used an Apple of Eden to expand the lands of his new empire.[2]
