The Reunion was a virtual representation of one of Fujibayashi Naoe's genetic memories, relived through the Animus EGO.[1]
Description
Naoe infiltrates Sumoto Castle in search of her mother Tsuyu.
Dialogue
Naoe made her way into the castle, exploring the residences before continuing into the tenshu. In one of the residences, she found a fan along with a letter on a small table stand.
- Naoe: A letter.
Expensive Gift
- A priceless artifact, engraved with the name "Yukari". Only a daimyo could afford to gift something so precious.
Naoe continued her way to the tenshu, having to enter through the upper levels. Inside, she overheard two guards inside a room.
- Guard 1: Knowing that prisoner is in this same castle... It makes me uneasy.
- Guard 2: Don't worry, she's nice and safe under the tenshu.
- Guard 1: She's made too many escape attempts for my liking. One day she will get loose.
- Guard 3: It's not her who worries me. The daimyo's concubine, she's the one who gives me nightmares.
- Guard 1: Hmm, now that you mention it, I haven't seen our lord the daimyo for many weeks...
Naoe made her way down and found a room locked behind a metal gate.
- Naoe: This must be where they keep the shinobi.
With the guards taken care of, Naoe unlocked the door and found a bounded woman in it.
- Naoe: Tsuyu?
- Tsuyu: [gasps]
- Naoe: [gasps]
Naoe rushes over to her mother and begins cutting her free.
- Naoe: [gasps]
As Naoe got close, the woman grabbed her wrist to take a closer look at her Hidden Blade.
- Tsuyu: Naoe?
- Naoe: [gasps] It's me. I'm here to save you.
- Tsuyu: My Naoe... No... No, no... You shouldn't have come.
- Naoe: [breathes]
- Tsuyu: No!
As Naoe turned around, she was knocked out by a giant-sized man with a kanabo.
- Yukari: A long-lost daughter, desperate to earn her mother's love, no matter the risk...
As she came to, Naoe found herself in a prisoner's clothing and her gear confiscated. After a while, she regained conscious.
- Naoe: [gasps] [breathes]
- Yukari: Ah, Naoe, did my puppet show please you? I tailored it especially for you.
Naoe notices her Hidden Blade had been taken while she was unconscious.
- Naoe: [gasps]

- Tsuyu: Hurt her... and I'll never give you what you want.
- Yukari: I will give the two of you some time alone. To catch up. Think things through.

- Yukari: I am Kimura Yukari. And all you need know is that Awaji is mine.
After Yukari leaves the room, her bodyguard Tomeji and soldiers followed right behind.
- Tomeji: [grunts]
- Tsuyu: [hurts]
The door was then locked, trapping Naoe and Tsuyu inside.
- Naoe: This was all a trap - the puppet show - to lure me here.
- Tsuyu: [grunts]
- Naoe: Tsuyu.
- Tsuyu: [sighs] Come. Let me have a look at you.

- Tsuyu: A rambunctious one, face always covered in mud.

- Tsuyu: So... Nagato's obligation passed to you. Tell me. How did he die?
- Naoe: He died defending me.
- Tsuyu: Then he asked too much of you. If only I had been there...
- Naoe: Those responsible paid with their lives.
- Tsuyu: Your father's heart was like no other. I will mourn him, when the time is right.
- Naoe: [breathes] You've been here all this time?
- Tsuyu: [sighs] Kept alive by Yukari because she hopes to discover where I hid the Sword.
- Naoe: The final regalia! I have already recovered the other two. The Jewel and the Mirror are safe.
- Tsuyu: Then the work is nearly done.
- Naoe: We will find it. Together we will reunite all three regalia.
- Tsuyu: You have the spirit of an Assassin. I will appreciate the help. But first we must find a way out of this place.
- Naoe: I'm sure we won't have long to wait. Let me tell you about my friend...
Outcome
Ambushed by Kimura Yukari, Naoe is trapped under the tenshu along with her mother.
