The 1973 Chilean coup d'état was a watershed event in both the history of Chile and the Cold War. At the end of the conflict between Socialist president Salvador Allende and the opposition-controlled Congress of Chille, Allende was killed, and the military general Augusto Pinochet rose to power.
Augusto Pinochet was a puppet of the Templar Order, and wanted Abstergo Industries to have influence in the region.[1]
