The 1524 Chinese Assassin purge was a full-scale assault on the Chinese Brotherhood of Assassins in China by the Jiajing Emperor, under the influence of the Templar Order.

Shortly after the beginning of the Jiajing Emperor's reign, he initiated a purge against any possible opposition or threats to his rule. A majority of the Assassins were persecuted and killed, and the remaining members fled to other regions to seek help from other Brotherhoods.

Shao Jun and her Mentor fled to Italy to seek out Ezio Auditore da Firenze, the retired Mentor of the Italian Assassins. However, Chinese Imperial soldiers caught up with them in Venice, and Shao Jun's Mentor died fighting them off. She managed to reach Ezio Auditore's villa in Tuscany, and persuaded him to teach her how to rebuild her Order. After another group of soldiers found Jun in Tuscany, Ezio and Jun killed them, and Jun returned to China to rebuild the Chinese Brotherhood.
