The 13 Vendémiaire uprising was a royalist rebellion in Paris on 5 October 1795.
Napoleon Bonaparte, a young artillery officer of the French Army, defeated 25,000 royalists with only 5,000 troops under his command. However, Bonaparte used 40 cannons to defeat the rebel forces. However, one of the royalists crippled during the uprising managed to survive, and later attempted to assassinate Bonaparte.
