In the mid-18th century, the African slave Jeanne discovered two halves of a Prophecy Disk within Isu ruins beneath the Mayan city of Chichen Itza. Recognizing them as similar to the amulet in her possession, she hid them from her superiors, namely Rafael Joaquín de Ferrer.[1]
Years later, Jeanne's daughter, the Louisianan Assassin Aveline de Grandpré, found the Prophecy Disk in Chichen Itza, journeying to the former Mayan city twice to obtain both halves.[2][3] She subsequently took the artifact with her to New Orleans in 1777, offering it to her stepmother Madeleine de L'Isle—the Louisianan Templars' leading Master Templar—during her feigned conversion to the Templar Order.[4]
