We do this together or not at all. It has been proposed that this page be merged with Herald and Munadi, under the article: Herald. Discussion to this effect can be held on the former article's talk page. |

A town crier was a public announcer of the 18th century. In Colonial America, they advertised anything from newspapers to rewards for aiding in the capture of suspected or known criminals. The Kanien'kehá:ka Assassin Ratonhnhaké:ton could bribe the criers in Boston and New York to reduce his notoriety.[1]
Trivia[edit | edit source]
- Unlike heralds in Italy and Constantinople, town criers could not be pickpocketed after being bribed.
- The criers did not attract crowds of civilians, and some held up newspapers.
Appearances[edit | edit source]
