Thomas Jefferson (1743 – 1826) was one of the American Founding Fathers, the principal author of the Declaration of Independence and the third President of the United States.[1]

Biography[edit | edit source]

In 1776, Jefferson drafted the representative of Virginia, a document that expressed the desire of separation of the Thirteen Colonies of the British Empire from the British crown. Representatives of the colonies gathered in Philadelphia, where 56 delegates signed the declaration.[2] Benjamin Franklin was credited with making several small but significant changes to the declaration.[3] The proclamation stands as an important statement on human rights and influenced other human rights movements.[2]

Alternate timeline[edit | edit source]

"We'll never defeat Washington without the people of New York behind us."
―Thomas Jefferson to Ratonhnhaké:ton.[src]-[m]

In an alternate timeline created by an Apple of Eden, Jefferson led the rebellion against King George Washington's tyranny in New York.[4]

When Ratonhnhaké:ton crashed the Aquila into another ship off the shore of New York City, Washington traveled to the docks to investigate the disturbance. Jefferson seized this opportunity to attack Washington's fortress, the New York Pyramid.[4]

Jefferson's rebels were later quickly overwhelmed, but fortunately Ratonhnhaké:ton arrived and used his Bear Might ability to cut off Washington's reinforcements and open up an escape route for the rebels. As they fled, the Kanien'kehá:ka introduced himself to Jefferson.[4]

The two later met again in an alley. Jefferson recognized they needed the civilians' help to bring down Washington and directed the Kanien'kehá:ka to John Fitzwilliams, a corrupt official hoarding food to sell them at inflated prices. Ratonhnhaké:ton assassinated him, and with the help of the farmer Warren, distributed food to the people, gaining Jefferson their favor.[5]

Ratonhnhaké:ton then met Jefferson again, who informed him that he had received word that Paul Revere's wife and son had disappeared. Ratonhnhaké:ton took up Revere's work of rallying the people against Washington, causing chaos and destruction that turned the people on their oppressors.[6]

With the city's guards scattered, Ratonhnhaké:ton prepared to signal an attack on Washington's palace by toppling the gunpowder storage tower in Fort George. Jefferson spent his spy Godfrey to plant explosives at the base of the tower for Ratonhnhaké:ton to topple it.[7]

Once this was accomplished, Jefferson and Benjamin Franklin led the attack on Washington's pyramid. Ratonhnhaké:ton promised he would see them again after he entered the palace and confronted the king.[8]

Behind the scenes[edit | edit source]

Thomas Jefferson is a historical figure who was first mentioned in the community-oriented project Assassin's Creed: Initiates. He later was mentioned in the 2012 video game Assassin's Creed III, but only made his psychical appearance in The Redemption, the finale of a three-part 2013 downloadable expansion titled The Tyranny of King Washington, where he was portrayed by the American voice actor John Emmet Tracy.
