The Round City of Baghdad served as the city's core during the age of the Abbasid Caliphate. Built in 762–766 CE during the founding of Baghdad, its construction was overseen by al-Mansur,[1] who intended it to be the Abbasids' seat of power in the region.[2] During Abbasid times, its official name was the City of Peace (Arabic: Madinat As-Salam), and it housed the Caliphal Palace at its center.[3]
Districts and landmarks[edit | edit source]
Behind the scenes[edit | edit source]
Historically, the House of Wisdom was located within the Round City's walls, but in Assassin's Creed: Mirage, the library is located in the outer Abbasiyah district.
