Isu Gateways were guarded entrances found all across Aletheia's simulation of Atlantis. The barrier created by the doorways keept out all those without full access to the Isu's sixth sense, Knowledge.[1]
These gateways guarded Areas of interest for the isu, such as Archives, laboratories and repositories. In most cases they were in place to protect Isu codexes, Keeper's Insight and data caches which helped icrease the users knowledge.[2]

When Kassandra first appeared in the simulation of Atlantis her first task given to her by Poseidon was to gather knowledge to go through a Isu Gateway.[1] Later on she entered several gateways and gained more knowledge to enter those she initially couldn't.
