Eden Ring Station

The Eden Ring Station was an Isu vault located beneath Manius's Sanctum in Mercia, England. It was accessible through the Sanctum through the use of a password. A part of the Rings of Eden initiative and managed by an artificial intelligence, the facility also included a very intricate defense system, designed to disorient, even though the project was abandoned prior to its conclusion.[1]
History[edit | edit source]
While in operation, Hildr served as the Chief Guardian of the station and, upon learning it would be shut down, went to appeal to the High Council. Later on, Hildr never returned to her post and the project was shut down prior to the Great Catastrophe, cuting off the station from the global grid.[1]
In the late 9th century, the facility's generators began to produce energy but had no outlet for it, risking a discharge that would wipe out all life on Britain. The station defenses also kicked in, with the nearby animals behaving weirdly thanks to traces of chemicals and pheromones in the air. These chemicals could also affect human perception and memory.[1]
Eivor Varinsdottir unlocked the station, having acquired the password. Upon reaching the bottom, she reactivated the AI, who remarked that the station was "approaching a crisis point" and she was the most suitable candidate for resolving it. She delved deep into the station, dodging deadly lasers and solving puzzles while being guided by the AI. At the main chamber, she removed a tool designed to channel and distribute energy from its pedestal, absorbing the station's power and triggering the shutdown sequence.[1]
