Matsudaira Nobuyasu (松平 信康, c. 1559 - 1579) was Tokugawa Ieyasu's and Lady Tsukiyama's son and brother to Kamehime.
Biography[edit | edit source]
In 1561, Matsudaira Nobuyasu, along with his mother Sena and baby sister Kamehime, were held hostage and caged in Imagawa Mansion by their relative Imagawa Ujizane. Wanting to go home, Nobuyasu asked his mother when they can go home and where his father was. However, when Sena tried to assure him, Ujizane came in and harassed Sena in front of Nobuyasu, ordering them to behave while in his care.[2]
The next year, Nobuyasu held his sister in his arms while under the supervision of Udono Nagateru at Kaminogō Castle. While he watched Nagateru threaten his mother, he later saw the shinobi Hattori Hanzō arrive and throw a shuriken at the samurai. However, Templar and Jesuit priest Paulino Massa entered the room and stopped the shuriken before introducing himself. When Nagateru complained about his presence, Massa killed him in front of the children before turning the gun on them. Massa then gave Hanzō a choice to either save them and reveal the location of the Imperial Regalia or have them die.[3]
