Urdr was an Isu and one of three Nornir in Norse mythology.

Mythology

Along with Verthandi and Skuld, Urdr was one of the Nornir, women who were at the birth of every child, deciding its fate. Urdr represented the past, whilst the other two represented the present and future.[1]

Legacy and influence

In a dream-sequence of Asgard, Havi was approached by the Nornir at his throne in Asgard about an upcoming catastrophe.[2]

In the southeast of Asgard was a well named after her, beneath Yggdrasil, where the Nornir resided.[3]
