I wanted to ask you something. Which is... what's your name? This article title is conjecture. Although the article subject is canon, no official name for it has been given. |
The Battle of 300 is the introduction for players in Assassin's Creed: Odyssey.
Description
Dialogue
King Leonidas and Dienekes stood atop a cliff before the Battle of Thermopylae.
- Dienekes: We are ready, my king.
- Leonidas: Tell me, Dienekes, have you ever gone fishing with your son?
- Dienekes: No, never. A soldier's life is all I've had the honor to know.
- Leonidas: I would have liked to have gone fishing with my son. But now...
Leonidas placed his helmet on his head, then took up his spear.
- Leonidas: Let us meet our fate, shall we?
On the field of battle, Leonidas addressed his gathered troops.
- Leonidas: Spartans! Every breath that you have taken, has led you to this moment. Every drop of blood, sweat and tear, all of it, has led to where you stand right now. The Persians come to make slaves of us all. I have a better idea. I say we drench the gods with their blood. What say you, Spartans?
The soldiers sounded their approval with each statement.
- Leonidas: For our sons!
- Leonidas: For our daughters!
- Leonidas: For Sparta!
As Leonidas turned, the Persians charged up the beach towards them, and the battle begun. Leonidas eventually faced off with Kurush in battle.
- Kurush: Puny Spartan! I'll bring Xerxes your head.
- Leonidas: Xerxes sends his sheep to slaughter! Come, Persian!
- Kurush: I will bring Xerxes your head, you insolent Spartan fool!
- Leonidas: Come and get it!
- Leonidas: No match for a Spartan!
After the battle, a prisoner was brought before Leonidas.
- Spartan Light Soldier: We are betrayed, my king. Xerxes knows of the path behind the mountain. They are coming.
- Persian Soldier: By dawn you'll be completely surrounded!
- Leonidas: We are Spartans, when are we not.
- Persian Soldier: Spartans! That word will mean nothing when Xerxes wipes your bloodline from the face of th-
Leonidas killed the soldier, then addressed his troops.
- Leonidas: Today was a day the Persians will never forget. Tomorrow is a day the world will remember.
