Shards of Eden were leftover shards of Isu technology maintaining some of the power of the Pieces of Eden.
William Kidd's Shard
A Shard of Eden was found by captain William Kidd in the 18th century who hid it in a secluded island inhabited by wolves who protected the artifact.
It was later discovered by Connor in 176.6
