The key to the Saint-Denis Temple was an Isu artifact used to access the main chambers of an ancient Isu temple beneath the town of Saint-Denis, France.

History
At some point in the 3rd century, the bishop Saint Denis came into possession of the key and accessed the temple, retrieving the Apple of Eden it housed and using it to convert the population of Lutetia to Christianity. After his death, one of his successors recovered the Apple and created the Head of Saint Denis to house it before returning the artifact to the temple.[2]
In the early 12th century, the abbot Suger of Saint-Denis acquired the key and retrieved the Head from the temple, discovering the Apple it housed. After using the knowledge gained from it to create the Eagle of Suger, the artifact was once again locked away in the temple.[5]
By the time of the French Revolution, the key was in the possession of King Louis XVI, who kept it in a box inside his secret vault in the Tuileries Palace. On 10 August 1792, at the height of the Revolution, the royal family was forced to abandon the Tuileries Palace when it was stormed by an angry mob. Napoleon Bonaparte secretly infiltrated the palace in hopes of obtaining the key, and with the help of the Assassin Arno Dorian, who was seeking the King's correspondence with the comte de Mirabeau, was able to locate the king's secret vault and obtain the key.[6]
By August 1794, Napoleon had managed to transfer a small army to Saint-Denis to locate the temple, and put Philippe Rose in charge of its excavation.[7] Arno, unwilling to let the contents of the temple fall into Napoleon's hands, stole the key from Napoleon's chest and used it to open the temple doors.[8] After killing Rose and his men, Arno retrieved the Head of Saint Denis and removed the Apple of Eden from it before sending the Apple to Al Mualim in Egypt.[9]
