The father of Tsuyu and Tomi was a farmer in Osaka who lived during the late Sengoku period.

Biography[edit | edit source]

By 1541, a father of five children, he worked the land alongside his wife but the land was mainly barren and they struggled to provide for both their children and their debtors, the local monks. One morning, they begged for leniency and promised more money for them. However, his begging caught the ire of his daughter Tsuyu, who suggested that they fight back. Annoyed, he reprimanded her but insisted that they must follow through with this promise for the family.[1]

The next year, he did not meet his goals and the monks returned. Without any more options, he simply gave up Tsuyu to be sold as a servant to their temple.[1] However, his younger daughter Tomi disagreed aloud and admitted that Tsuyu had helping them with the chores and responsibilities. Yet, her cries gave the monks an offer they could not refuse: two girls. Thus, their father agreed to the new deal but Tsuyu fought back against the monks and told her dad not to give them away. With this, he rescinded the offer for Tomi but let Tsuyu be taken over her disobedience and lack of respect for the family. While Tsuyu was taken away, the monks promised her father that they will return for Tomi.[2]

At some point, Tomi was taken away for her family's payment and was made to work at one of the monks' temple. Fortunately, Tsuyu, who became an Assassin under the Master Assassin Alvaro Catarribera, found her long-lost sister and gave her enough mon to free herself from servitude.[3]
