Lieutenant is a rank that is Second-in-Command to the Grand Master of the Templar Order, alongside Master Templars as Templar leaders of Templar Rites.

The only known Lieutenants was during the Age of Enlightenment, as the Parisian Rite had three different individuals that served as Lieutenant to the De la Serre family.

In the 1760s, under the leadership of the Grand Master of the Parisian Rite François de la Serre, François-Thomas Germain was his Lieutenant.[4][2] As Lieutenant, Germain started getting visions of Great towers of gold, cities shining white as silver, these lead him to discover the vault of Jacques de Molay in the Temple in Paris and found the Codex Pater Intellectus.[5]

Afterwards, Germain came to view the Templar Order as corrupted by wealth and power of the nobility, church and state. first attempted to convince Grand Master de la Serre of [5]
