Temenos of Zeus Ainesios

Temenos of Zeus Ainesios was a shrine located at the top of the tallest mountain in the Ancient Ruins of Kranioi in Kephallonia, Greece.

History

In Greek mythology, the temple was visited by two of Jason's Argonauts,, who prayed there for Zeus' aid in defeating the winged monsters known as Harpies.[1]

During the Peloponnesian War, the misthios Kassandra visited the ruins and killed the wolves that had made the ruins their home.[1]
