Operation Silver Fox was a German military operation to capture the Soviet port of Murmansk during World War II. With assistance from Finland, the Germans attempted to secure the port in order to launch attacks into Soviet interior.
Spanning three major operations, the Germans failed to take the port, which remained in Soviet control throughout the conflict.[1]
