I Need a Hero was a virtual representation of one of Kassandra's genetic memories, relived by Layla Hassan through the Portable Animus HR-8.5.

Kassandra met a Spartan commander after the Battle of Megaris.
Dialogue[edit | edit source]
Kassandra spoke to a Spartan polemarch.
- Kassandra: Chaire, commander. What can I do to serve Sparta?
- Man: You! Misthios! You're the one who won the battle for Megaris for us Spartans!
- Man: Thanks to you, Athenian efforts are fractured in this area, and my regiment is finally ready to strike.
- Kassandra: What do you need?
- Man: A certain Athenian commander is all that stands in our way to victory.
- Kassandra: Of course. You want me to deal with the Athenian commander.
- Man: You read me like an oracle.
("The commander's head is mine.")
- Kassandra: I'll handle this.
- Man: Well met! Sparta thanks you.
Kassandra left to look for the Athenian commander. After eliminating him, she returned to the Spartan officer.
- Man: You again. Have you killed him?
- Kassandra: Your man is dead.
- Man: Thank you, mercenary. Now, your reward.
- Kassandra: I always finish what I've started.

- The name of the memory is a reference to Bonnie Tyler's song Holding Out for a Hero, the chorus of which begins with the words "I need a hero."
