In 2012, a comatose Desmond Miles relived the memories of his ancestor Ezio Auditore in 1506. Ezio and Leonardo da Vinci entered the Pythagorean Vault, which gave the coordinates to the Temple: 43 39 19 N 75 27 42 W. William Miles observed the memory and dispatched a team there.[2]
Desmond soon relived Ezio's memories in 1512: the Mentor had entered Altaïr's library and was used by Altaïr's Piece of Eden to deliver a message to him: Desmond entered a Synch Nexus where Jupiter gave him the location and informed him to go there. Desmond awoke with William, Rebecca Crane and Shaun Hastings near the Grand Temple, stating he knew what they had to do.
