- ―Description.[src]

The Haueris Nome was one of the nomes of Egypt, located by the Nile east of the Faiyum Oasis and north of the Uab Nome. It housed the pyramid of Pharaoh Amenemhat III, as well as the tomb of Pharaoh Smenkhkare, the founder of the Order of the Ancients. The city of Hermopolis served as its capital.[1]
History
In 46 BCE, shortly after the formation of the Hidden Ones, the Mentor Bayek sent a group of his disciples to the Haueris Nome to investigate the Sect of the Ibis Reborn, a mysterious cult seemingly led by the resurrected Medunamun. The Hidden Ones found and assassinated who they believed to be the Ibis Reborn, only to discover they had killed a decoy and that the Ibis was not in Haueris.[2]

Behind the scenes
Even though the Haueris Nome is meant to represent the area around Hermopolis in Middle Egypt, its island geography in-game, the single bridge connecting the island with the mainland, and the Temple of Thoth being based on the Great Temple of Ramesses II at Abu Simbel would mean that the entire area is actually modeled after the Abu Simbel island.
In-game, the Haueris Nome is merged with Lake Moeris and the Faiyum Oasis. This is also confirmed by the presence of the Pyramid of Amenemhat III in Haueris. In real life, the pyramid is located near Faiyum, and both the area of Haueris and Abu Simbel are located quite far from the lake and Faiyum.
Appearances
- Assassin's Creed: Origins (first appearance)
