Ezio, my friend! How may I be of service?

This article is in desperate need of a revamp. Please improve it in any way necessary in order for it to achieve a higher standard of quality in accordance with our Manual of Style.

Assassin's Creed: Origins is the tenth main installment in the Assassin's Creed series developed by Ubisoft. Set in ancient Egypt, the game will feature a new Assassin protagonist, Bayek, and is slated for release on 27 October 2017.

Development

Ubisoft Montreal is working on Assassin's Creed this time. With the team that created Assassin's Creed IV: Black Flag. It has been reported that Ubisoft Montreal has worked on Assassin's Creed: Origins for 3.5 years and taking a 1 year break after Syndicate to further develop and perfect Assassin's Creed: Origins.

The focus this time around is in Ancient Egypt and this means that you can fight in colosseums and visit ancient temples and sanctuaries.

Gameplay

Location

Origins' Egypt is 300% larger than the map of Assassin's Creed IV: Black Flag and is composed of 5 cities/areas: Giza, Memphis, Siwa (hometown of Bayek), The Nile Delta and Faiyoum. Which feature great historical Ancient Egyptian buildings and also spectacular historical sites and colorful areas like the great pyramids of Giza and river Nile. This architecture is totally different than even the oldest Assassin's Creed: Assassin's Creed.of Giza. This architecture is totally different than even the oldest Assassin's Creed: Assassin's Creed.

Giza and Memphis are home to the great pyramids of Giza (which Bayek can climb on), the Sphinx and the capital during the old kingdom. Siwa is Bayek's hometown and a poor village situated in the most isolated places in all of Ancient Egypt. It is situated below sea level making the climate hot and dry. There are temples and necropolis, which means there's plenty to be uncovered. The Nile delta is a land of plenty. And danger. The land is Fertile where the river Nile flows into the Mediterranean Sea and lots of wildlife can be found there. Here you'll find farmers who are tilling the land, growing crops that keep the surrounding cities moving, and the soldiers and brutes who exert control over people. Faiyoum is another one of those oasis lands in Egypt. It was once a great sea, but now home to the bones of great, ancient whales.

Transportation and activities

You can travel around Ancient Egypt by land and by water. On land you can travel with Horses and Camels which is faster than traveling by foot, on water you can travel by boat and use a large paddle to move yourself forwards. On the side of the boat you can find shields to protect against enemies firing arrows at you. Swimming is also vastly expanded, as you can now randomly dive underwater in search of collectibles and fight marine animals like crocodiles and hippopotamuses if you wish to do so.

Characters, customization and weapons

There are a variety of weapons including: Heavy weapons, Swords, Long weapons, Bows and Shields. Heavy weapons include the Fang Sickle Sword, Copper Mace, Headsplitter and the Skull breaking Club. With good range and maximum damage, these are great at knocking down your enemies, or just splitting them in two of you'd rather. Swords include the Khopesh Sword, Bronze Sword, Iron Shotel, Mirror Blades, Golden Wolf, Berserk Fury, Bronze Khopesh and Dual Wielding Storm Blades. The weight and build of these make them perfect for clos combat situations where you need to inflict some serious damage fast. Equiping single handed or dual-wielded swords will offer you unique combos and finishing moves. Long weapons include the Pharaoh's Mace and the Sarissa. Wether you're swinging them or thrusting them, these do more damage than you might think, especially if you and your weapons level up. Bows include the Hunter Bow, Light Bow, Predator Bow and Warrior Bow. The bow is a critical part of your arsenal, giving you freedom to alternate freely between short-range and long-range combat. In special, the Warrior Bow can shoot multiple arrows simultaneously and with the Predator Bow you can alter the trajectory of the arrows during mid-flight. The Shield includes the Alexander's Shield and Snake Shield. Throughout your journey you can find more shields and they can be used to defend yourself against enemy melee attacks, bash an enemies head in, or to catch arrows shot at you to refill your Quiver.

Combat

With the new combat system, fighting in Assassin’s Creed: Origins has been fully redesigned around weapon hitboxes and positioning rather than timed animations, giving you far more control over every combat encounter. Since our enemies have that same freedom, this means that you'll have to consider the positioning and timing of your attacks more than ever before.

In addition to a revised combat system, the new Adrenaline Gauge allows you to build up energy as you fight, giving you the ability to unleash devastating finishing moves on your enemy.

Other

Unlike previous Assassin's Creed games, Assassin's Creed: Origins will have no mini-map, giving you a more immersive feeling. Assassin's Creed: Origins also adds a controllable eagle called Senu which can be used to scan the area and mark places and enemies. Eagle Vision can be used to see objects, though enemies cannot be seen with the ability. Assassin's Creed: Origins also has much more R.P.G. elements in the game with things like a redesigned weapon menu and leveling up is more vital than before.
