The Second Apple is a Piece of Eden, a piece of ancient but technologically advanced equipment created by Those Who Came Before to control human-kind, their workforce.
Use: Designed to create illusions and control mens minds; can presumably be used in conjunction with the Staff. Also contains knowledge of many technologies used by Those Who Came Before.
Status: Caught in an explosive satellite malfunction. Possibly survived, but, if so, it is impossible to retrieve in the darkness of space.
Neutral ownership: Those Who Came Before, Elizabeth I of England[1], Mahatma Gandhi.[2]
Assassin associated ownership: None.
Templar associated ownership: Assassin of Gandhi.
History
The first known human possessor of the Second Apple is Elizabeth I of England[1], an important Monarch in 16th century England who succeeded her sister Mary I and reversed her re-establishment of the Roman Catholic Church in England. It is unknown how or where she acquired the Second Apple, although it's possible, even likely, that it was handed down through a line of Monarchs before her.
