Aguilar's Apple of Eden was a Piece of Eden, an object of ancient and technologically advanced equipment created by the Isu to control humankind, their workforce.
In October 2016, the Templars sought out the Apple as a means to suppress humanity's violent tendencies and, by removing free will altogether, finally eliminate the Assassin Brotherhood with the end of the Creed itself.
