The Denver International Airport satellite accident, or DIA satellite accident, was an incident that took place at Denver International Airport in the early 21st century, that resulted in a large number of deaths and the destruction of one of the First Civilizations Pieces of Eden - the Second Apple - which was held by Abstergo Industries at the time. A transcript of a cell phone call out of Philadelphia imply that Daniel Cross was involved in the events at DIA, and that the event traumatized him in some manner.[1]

Dr. Warren Vidic was responsible for preparing the final report for the incident, which indicated that the Abstergo Project Lead at Denver had killed everyone there before the company's clean-up crew arrived.[2]

At least one civilian, believed to be a baggage handler, witnessed the incident and escaped. By 4th September 2012, this survivor was threatening to expose Abstergo's involvement in the event.[3]

Aftermath

The loss of the Piece of Eden meant Abstergo Industries could no longer launch their Eye-Abstergo satellite on schedule. In order to find a new Piece of Eden, Abstergo were obliged to place Desmond Miles in an Animus, in order to obtain the locations of other potential replacements.[2]
