Wasted Devotion was a virtual representation of one of Kassandra's genetic memories, relived by Layla Hassan through the Portable Animus HR-8.5.
Kassandra: Chaire Anything you need a mercenary's help with?
Athlete:You! Beloved child of Zeus and Hera! You are officially the greatest being who ever lived.
Kassandra:What equipment? Most of the athletes I've seen barely wear clothes.
Athlete:The javelins, misthios. Stop thinking about naked athletes and help us with these thieves!
Kassandra:
Athlete:
Kassandra:I have achieved what no mere mortal can achieve... until another mere mortal achieves it.
Athlete:Nonsense.
Athlete: Once a mighty warrior, always a mighty warrior. You have given me great inspiration, misthios.
Kassandra:How so?
Athlete:By winning the Olympics, you've made me realize how much time I've wasted worshipping Poseidon when I should have been devoted to Zeus.
Kassandra:So what now?
Athlete:Before your heroics, I foolishly devoted a shrine to Poseidon. Now, I'd like to see it turned to dust, but wild beasts are drawn to the sacrifices I left there.
Kassandra:Sounds like you want me to kill the beasts.
Athlete:Yes, all of them must be gutted. Do you accept?
(Accept - I'll kill the beasts.)
Kassandra:I'll help you. You have my word.
Athlete:Good, get this done quickly.
Kassandra:Leave it to me.
Kassandra left the athlete, and sought out the shrine wherein she found and slew two bears before returning to the athlete.
Athlete:You're back. Have you killed them?
Kassandra:I took care of them. Every last one.
Athlete:You do good work, friend. Here, this is for you.
