This article is about the treasuries in Elis. For other uses, see Treasury.

The Treasuries were located along the northern side of the Sanctuary of Olympia in Elis, Greece.
History[edit | edit source]
These small buildings were constructed by cities at the foot of Kronion in the Valley of Olympia to hold valuable offerings, believed to be under the god Zeus' protection.[1]
During the 428 BCE Olympic Games, the treasuries holding the wealth of the families of Makar and Lelex the Ionian were stolen by their own children, Laneira and Menon. The visiting Spartan misthios Kassandra was asked to find the valuables as well as the thieves, and she confronted them, along with Makar and Lelex, at the ruins outside the Sanctuary.[2]
