Suenites Quarry

The Suenites Quarry was located within the Tavern Point region of the island of Mykonos, Greece.

During the Peloponnesian War, the Spartan misthios Kassandra travelled to the quarry to help Thaletas hunt down Tisandros, one of the Athenian commanders stationed on Mykonos. ^[1]

The name of the place references the Egyptian city of Swenett, for it was known by the ancient Greeks as Συήνη (Syene).
