The Statue of Artemis in the Cedar

The Statue of Artemis in the Cedar was a shrine set up around a wooden statue of the Greek goddess Artemis near the border of Golden Fields and Smuggler's Forest in Arkadia, Greece.

During the Peloponnesian War, the misthios Kassandra was asked by her mother Myrrine and the Spartan general Brasidas to meet them at the shrine after the Olympic Games.[1]

Upon arriving at the shrine, Kassandra was instead greeted by a mercenary named Sosipatros, whom Brasidas had paid to meet and bring her to meet the general. However, after revealing that someone had paid him more to eliminate Kassandra, Sosipatros attacked her was but quickly defeated. Sosipatros was thus forced to reveal Brasidas' whereabouts to Kassandra.[2]
