Shipwreck of Nestor

The Shipwreck of Nestor was the wreck of a ship which had allegedly belonged to Nestor, the legendary King of Pylos and Messenia.^[1] It was located next to the island of Schiza, south of Messenia.

During the Peloponnesian War, the Spartan misthios Kassandra found the shipwreck and claimed its treasures, among them a figurehead featuring snakes for the ship Adrestia.^[2]
