Koragos was an elderly man living in Phokis, Greece during the 5th century BCE with his wife, Auxesia.

Biography[edit | edit source]

Koragos was a man who had lived together with Auxesia for decades by the time of the Peloponnesian War. While Auxesia showed no signs of slowing down, Koragos had begun to feel his age, and could barely keep up with her anymore, even though in their youth, he'd been just as eager as she.[1]

Around 431 BCE, they visited the Sanctuary of Delphi. While there, Auxesia introduced Koragos to the Spartan misthios Kassandra, who had agreed to help Auxesia with her problem, namely to gather the ingredients for an elixir meant to reinvigorate Koragos. Koragos was less than thrilled about this, but Auxesia ignored his objections.[1]
